James Gregory (Greg) Danford

James Gregory (Greg) Danford, 65, of Panama City Beach, FL. passed away March 1, 2024.

Greg was born April 2, 1958. He graduated from Rehobeth High School where he was a star athlete in all sports. Greg’s favorite sport was football. He was well known as a fierce quarterback and given the nickname ¨Gnat¨by his teammates. Greg studied Mechanical Engineering at Auburn University and Computer Science at Troy University.

Greg was employed at Mid-South Roof Systems in Atlanta, GA for 25 years as Vice-President, Sheet Metal Operations, overseeing national commercial projects. In 2022, Greg retired in Panama City Beach, FL where he enjoyed living his dream of the beach life. He cherished time spent with family and friends. Greg loved ocean sunsets, the beauty of nature and took the time to savor simple things. He was an enthusiastic Alabama football fan. A meek and generous man, Greg made lifelong friends in all the places he lived and worked. He will be remembered as loyal, honest, respectful, generous, compassionate, wise, and fun-loving.

Preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Danford. Survived by sons, Jamison Danford and Derek Danford; mother, Linda Bruner Danford; former spouse and mother of his sons, Kathy Jenkins; siblings, Kathy Harrell (James), Lisa Lake (Tom) and Mike Danford.

The family welcomes you to a remembrance visitation in honor of Greg at Ward Wilson Funeral Home in Dothan, AL Saturday, March 9, 2024, between 4-6 PM CT.
